Grief and Outrage Unite Arizonans
The latest high-profile act of ICE belligerence came when ICE officer Jonathan Ross shot and killed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis on Jan. 7, 2026. On Jan. 10, Arizonans gathered at the Cole Park pedestrian bridge to protest their government’s fascist militarization of the country’s law enforcement agencies.
In the days following the killing, Donald Trump and the Department of Homeland Security ratcheted up their rhetoric, lying to the press, sharing white supremacist song lyrics, restricting congressional visits to immigration detention facilities, and vowing a “day of reckoning and retribution” in Minneapolis.
